This was the first commercial hempcrete project in Alberta, Canada. We used DivitaTM precast hemp blocks to speed installation and eliminate cure time delays. The results were spectacular and created an atmosphere that aligned with the client's and their patrons values.

2020 was a transformative year to many people for many reasons, but for us it was the year we decided to build a business. We set out on creating a wellness focused co-working space in the heart of Edmonton with sustainability, inclusivity and accessibility in mind. We were thrilled to be introduced to Dion while seeking eco-friendly building options for our renovations and it couldn’t have been a better fit.
Dion was a dream to work with. Not only is he incredibly communicative, professional, and hard-working, we feel we have made a friend in him for life. The best part of the whole process was that he invited us to his workshop on multiple occasions to be active participants in the creation of the hempcrete blocks that would become the walls of our yoga studio. It was an experience I will always be grateful for and whenever we are in our studio now, we remember how fun, intentional, and empowering it felt to come together and create our dream with our own hands.
Spending time in the studio feels refreshing, detoxifying, and rejuvenating. You can tell by being in it, that it is different. Everyone who walks into the studio has the same reaction: amazement. It’s like being out in nature… but in the middle of the city. The plaster is breathtakingly beautiful, with a natural organic feel. It makes us feel even better knowing that it is a carbon negative building material.
